What I teach. Primarily Math 1 through Calculus- in other words, high school math. My core skill set is getting AP Calculus students to a 5 on the AP exam. I also work with younger students to master basic Algebra and Geometry. I am happy to venture into Diff EQ, Linear Algebra, etc, through this requires a certain dedication to structure and committment from the student... we'll talk.
Who it's for. Students who are struggling to understand the underlying concepts, or to find the meaning that will make the material stick. I often work with students who are preparing for major assesment or standardized test, especially AP exams, SAT, ACT, etc.
What a lesson looks like. 30 / 45 / 60 min lessons, once a week. We start where your student actually is and build from there. Materials will be provided.
Rates. Effective 8/1/26 - Rates are $40 per half hour and prorated from there, including a $15 driving fee for in-home visits. Lessons are booked by the month, with payment due in full on the last lesson of the month for the following month. Breaks follow the Wake Country Public School calendar.
You're already a math person- you just don't know it. Math is a Universal Language that anyone can master; not by rote memorization but by deep understanding. "Speaking" math can be as easy and joyful as playing music or reciting poetry- it just usually takes a teacher that is willing to listen to your particular mode of understanding, and present the concepts accordingly.
